Slabbert Pretorius – Managing Director (L.Th, BA, B.Th Honors)
Slabbert Pretorius is the Managing Director of Southern Cross Educational Enterprises. Slabbert sees Biblical Worldview Education as an integral part of bringing Believers, young and old, to spiritual maturity. As a third generation missionary, Slabbert strives to lead as many people as possible to Jesus Christ. He is passionate to see SCEE support and serve all day schools, schools of distance education and home schools in every possible way.
Slabbert was called to the full-time ministry in 1979. He served as pastor in a large fellowship of local churches in Southern Africa for almost 30 years. He also served as Chairman of the Executive Youth Council for 11 years and chaired a church forum for a number of years. Slabbert is a Church Growth consultant and assisted in planting a large number of churches. Slabbert was appointed by his denomination to assess Accelerated Christian Education in the early eighties and followed the progress and growth of the A.C.E. Ministry with great interest. He used his business skills to turn around a faltering school and later served as the Senior Administrator and Principal of Vine Christian School, a school using A.C.E. Educational Resources.
Slabbert has been married to Anna-Marié for more than 30 years and they have two lovely daughters; Marcelle, a qualified pastor and business woman and Charlize a 2010 A.C.E. graduate. It has been a blessing and a delight to see them absorb the Word of God through their studies and to grow to be lovely teenagers. One of the twin boys, Jake, entered university this year to do a primary school teaching degree, the second twin, Sam, has just completed a Nursing Traineeship in conjunction with completion of Year 12 whilst granddaughter Isabella, commenced a Traineeship in Hospitality at the beginning of 2015 in conjunction with doing Year 11/12.
