Ray Barzyk – Distribution Manager (BA (Hons) Grad Dip Lib Sc)
Ray Barzyk has fulfilled the role of Distribution Manager with SCEE overseeing supply and dispatch operations from 1999. While many changes and developments have taken place to the ministry over the 30 years that he has been involved in it, he believes the essential goals remain the same. He regards this as a unique ministry – one which God has used to provide a Bible-centric, character building curriculum to thousands of young people over many years.
Ray began his involvement with the ministry of Accelerated Christian Education in 1980 when distribution operations were relocated to Brisbane from Sydney. While initially working with inventory management, supply and dispatch operations, Ray also became involved with the A.C.E. national curriculum development programme as a writer. Over the following ten years, he researched and wrote fifteen Australian Social Studies units at a time when little nationalization of the curriculum was available. This was a natural extension of his educational background which majored in history and contemporary literature eventually culminating in a Bachelor of Arts with Honours from Griffith University (1978) and a Graduate Diploma of Library Science from the Queensland Institute of Technology (1980). In 1992, Ray joined the team at A.C.E. Australia Limited to concentrate on curriculum writing and inventory management.
