Called With a Holy Calling

June 2026 — Encouragement, teaching wisdom, and important updates for our school community

You Were Chosen on Purpose

"Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began."
2 Timothy 1:9

This passage from 2 Timothy 1:1–9 carries a message that goes far beyond inspiration — it challenges us to see our lives as a reflection of God's will, and to live with the confidence that our purpose is part of His eternal design.

1

You have a holy calling.

2

God chose you because He loves you outrageously — not because of anything you have done.

3

God chose you on purpose, before time itself began.

To be called to a "holy life" means to live a life that is set apart for God. Holiness involves purity, devotion, and dedication to God's will — striving to reflect His character in every aspect of our lives. Holiness isn't just about avoiding wrongdoing; it's about aligning every area of life with God's love and truth.

This divine calling isn't about striving for perfection; it's about surrendering to God's plan, letting His purpose guide our lives, and responding with gratitude. We're called to live each day as a testimony to the grace that has transformed us.

"I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called." — Ephesians 4:1

In every action, relationship, and decision, we have the opportunity to honour God's purpose. As we walk in this holy calling, we become a living witness to His love, grace, and faithfulness.

Stay true to your calling!

For Educators

How to Love Your Students Through Classroom Management

Our students can be the best and hardest part of teaching. But the way we manage our classrooms can reflect the character of Christ to them.

Jesus, Master Teacher

Jesus spent much of His ministry interacting with people who wanted to learn — and many who did not. We can be encouraged when we have classes of sleeping disciples, overcorrecting Peters, and confused Thomases. Jesus was a perfect teacher, but His students still struggled to listen. God calls us to do our best, knowing that impact sometimes comes weeks, months, even years later.

Loving Like Christ

Our primary motivation must be love. If we're honest, we don't always love our students. When we admit that, we can turn to Christ in prayer. Loving hard-to-love students is a choice we keep making with the help of the Holy Spirit — and students can often tell who is genuine.

Humility + Authority

Jesus humbled Himself and washed His disciples' feet, saying "I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you" (John 13:15). Yet humility does not mean abdicating authority. We are given authority over our classrooms to pursue good — for the class, each student, and the school. When we use that authority with the fruits of the Spirit, it becomes a powerful way to share the heart of Christ.

Creation

Every student bears God's image. Do our routines honour each student as a created image-bearer?

The Fall

We are all fallen. Helping students recognise this reality — and that they need a Saviour — is part of our calling.

Redemption

Just as Christ offers forgiveness, we can restore difficult students to good standing — a picture of what God does for us.

Restoration

Any time we create calm, ordered learning spaces, we restore a piece of God's good order and push back the chaos of the Fall.
